CREATE aims to generate new knowledge about how to reduce inequalities in education. By using interdisciplinary expertise and high-quality global data, CREATE will generate groundbreaking knowledge about learning environments that enable all children to realize their potential, regardless of their background.
Why research on inequality in education
Education can changes lives. However, in a global context there is a significant proportion of children who do not get the opportunity to realize their potential through education. It can be several reasons for this, such as gender, socio-economic family background or school quality. The consequences of inequality can be cumulative, and lead to an increased risk of dropping out of school, crime, alienation and unemployment. By (changing the way research in this field take place and) integrating knowledge and methods from different disciplines, CREATE aims to contribute to (creating) greater equality in education.
