Title: Gaps in perception of school climate: How leaderships’ style matters for organizational quality?

Abstract: This study investigates Đ° perception gap between teachers and principals regarding the aspects of leadership for learning (LFL) achieved jointly by both groups. The study further identifies and describes these gaps in perception within schools and countries participating in TALIS 2018. Lastly, it describes the association between the gaps, leadership, and school climate. In the majority of countries, principals rated school climate higher than teachers did. A higher emphasis on LFL was positively associated with wider gaps, consistently across countries. For countries with wider gaps, the variability of the gap across schools was also high. This study describes the tight connection between leadership and school climate from a joint perspective of key school stakeholders - teachers and principals.
