Catherine Malabou is a French philosopher who has made important contributions to research on the relationship between philosophy, neuroscience and epigenetics. A central concept in Malabou's work is "plasticity" which she derived both from Hegel and research in medical science. She is influenced by deconstruction, but her work goes beyond Derrida's focus on text, and investigates why human sciences cannot ignore the findings of natural sciences.

Malabou is professor at Kingston University, The European Graduate School and The Center for Research (CRMEP). She graduated from the École Supérieure Lettres et Sciences Humaines. She wrote her dissertation on Hegel under the supervision of Jacques Derrida.
