The Luxembourg school monitoring programme Épreuves Standardisées (ÉpStan) assesses students’ academic competencies, learning motivation and attitudes towards school at the beginning of each learning cycle of compulsory education (i.e., at the beginning of grade levels 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9). Notably, the ÉpStan in secondary school are fully digital. Through the ÉpStan, the Luxembourg Centre for Educational Testing (LUCET) is not only providing timely and policy-relevant information to educational stakeholders, but also assembling a unique and incredibly rich longitudinal database—panels are entire cohorts—about the evolution of students’ competency profiles and their pathways through school—and possibly through life.
Invited talk: The Sui Generis Luxembourg School Monitoring Programme: Genesis, Implementation, Extension and Scientific Opportunities
In this invited talk, Professor Antoine Fischbach, acting director of the Luxembourg Centre for Educational Testing (LUCET), will provide unique insights into the Luxembourgish educational testing projects, including large-scale longitudinal studies in education.
