Development and Analysis of Indicators for the Implementation of Central Terms in the Curriculum Renewal

This sub project is dedicated to understanding how students and teachers experience the new curriculum renewal in practice. We do this through conducting a representative survey of students in the 9th grade as well as their teachers. 

About the study

The main focus of this study is to understand:

  • How students and teachers conceptualize learning and knowledge, as well as students' motivation, well-being and learning environment.
  •  Students' and teachers' values and attitude to the multidisciplinary themes democracy and and social citizenship, sustainable development and public health and life skills. 

Method

The survey spans the whole country and is carried out 4 times during the period 2021-2023. The ninth grade in 150 schools have been chosen to participate.

Goals

The sub project will provide knowledge about:

  • Students and teachers' views on learning and knowledge
  • Students' motivation, well-being and learning environment
  • Teachers' experience of multidisciplinary themes
  • Whether the Curriculum Renewal is implemented with varying quality and pace in different schools
  • Whether the chosen measurements are adequate indicators of the implementation of the Curriculum Renewal
