Some master theses are written at a level which makes them publishable in scientific journals. Many students who aspire to turn their theses into articles, choose to write an article-based thesis, but it is also possible to turn a monograph into an article. To submit an article to a journal most often requires some extra work, in collaboration with the supervisor after the thesis has been graded. However, a published article is a good way of expanding the readership of the work. Moreover, it may count positively when applying for jobs, especially for those who want to pursue a PhD-degree. Talk to your supervisor if you think of trying to have your thesis published as an article.
