Academic interests
Current research interests include economics of education, labour economics and the use of ICT in education. In 2021 Massimo Loi joined the Department of Teacher Education and School Research (ILS) to lead the ICILS 2023 project.
Background and areas of expertise
Massimo Loi holds a PhD in Economics and Management from the University of Padua (Italy), and has an extensive experience in international organizations. He worked for the department of education of the OECD where he contributed to numerous projects as, for example, Education at a Glance and TALIS. He also worked for the Unit of Econometric and Applied Statistics of the European Commission on topics requiring the analysis of large datasets as the EU-LFS, PISA, ICILS 2013, TIMSS and PIRLS.
Between 2013 and 2015, he joined the Norwegian Center of ICT in Education Senter for IKT i utdanningen, where he contributed to the analysis of ICILS 2013 data.
