Personal background
Bjørn has worked almost thirty years in school, both as teacher, deputy headteacher and for 13 years as headteacher at two lower secondary schools. He has worked at Ringstabekk school i Bærum muicipality, a school that for 40 years has been in the forefront of educational developement in Norway. At this school the teaching is organized and executed interdiciplinary. He has a masters degree in school leadership. His master's thesis investegates school developement and leadership between a local and a regional level.
