To allow students to connect their diverse experiences across the different settings, MIRACLE’s tweet service is integrated at several points of the trajectory in the curriculum. Students are prompted to contribute tweets with comments and questions about energy sources (e.g., solar, water, wind). Each group is given a different energy source to focus on, facilitating a sense of expertise. The tweets provide the students with a resource to foster a sense of community and shared building of knowledge. Using iPods and iPads, students can send and follow the entire classroom’s flow of tweets in real time.
Towards the end of the trajectory, the students are asked to deliver an opinion piece to the local newspaper. A history of tweets both from their own and from others are one of their many resources for this article.
