POLNET Members Presented at the "Knowledge and Power in Education" Seminar

POLNET member Saija Volmari presented "Policy Knowledge and the Emergent Expert: Finnish Curriculum Reform in an Era of International Comparison."

On March 18, 2022, the Research Centre on Transnationalism and Transformation (TRANSIT) and the Faculty of Education and Culture of Tampere University, organized the event “Knowledge and Power in Education” to deliberate results of three on-going research projects on knowledge and power in education.  The two discussants in this event were Professor Bob Lingard (Australian Catholic University and The University of Queensland), and Professor Luís Miguel Carvalho (University of Lisbon).

In the event, Saija Volmari discussed the POLNET project findings of the latest curriculum reform in Finland, and presented part of her dissertation results based on the spatio-temporal analysis of the POLNET interviews from Finland and Norway.

Another POLNET member, Jaakko Kauko, presented the findings from another related project "Transnational Knowledge Networks in Higher Education Policymaking (KNETS)" that he currently serves as the principal investigator.
