Oslo SPeLL offers research support and runs its own research projects.

Support

We can offer advice to those who are planning or already carrying out research in the field of special needs education or a related field. We offer both scientific advice from our scientific staff and technical advice from our technical-administrative staff.

Buy-out (frikjøp) for Technical Support

Our lab engineer can be allocated up to 30% of their annual working hours for buy-out (frikjøp) to provide assistance to externally funded projects.

Oslo SPeLL research projects

  • Standardizing digital tests for children (teSTand)
  • Development of virtual reality (VR) paradigms for assisting student training in special needs education.
    • The aim of this project is to investigate whether and how VR technology can provide innovative, effective, and targeted training to students within the field of special needs education.
    • The project timeline is 2023/2024 and is financed by the Faculty of Education.

External project collaborations

  • Betre høyrselshabilitering med detaljert språklydtesting (Arne Kirkhorn Rødvik - Oslo University Hospital)
  • Investigation of the relationship between sensory responsiveness and learning (Ellen Egeland Flø - University of Oslo).
    • Multimodal research with, among other things, EEG, skin conductance (hand sweat), pupillometry, and cognitive testing.
