Motivation, achievement and wellbeing among lower secondary students

A cross-cultural comparison

About the Project

The goal of this minor study is to expand our team and network, and to initiate new research in Norway by translating the key inventories and scales used in our previous work into Norwegian, and validating them in a cross-cultural comparative study on motivation, achievement, and well-being between Norwegian and Finnish 8th graders. We are mostly interested in what kind of motivational profiles can be identified among Norwegian students, how they are associated with personal characteristics (e.g., perfectionism, temperament), school-related functioning (e.g., emotional exhaustion, school value, error-related beliefs), and achievement, and how Norwegian students in this sense compare to their Finnish peers?
