The research group ComPros at Department of Special Needs Education is hosting an open seminar on developmental needs of children with Down syndrome. Researchers from Vanderbilt University are contributing. The seminar will focus on reading skills, narrative skills, and cognitive functioning.

Welcome to an open seminar about the development of reading skills—skills that set children on trajectories towards life success. The seminar is hosted by the research group Literacy and Numeracy in Context (LiNCon) at the Department of Special Needs Education. Our guest lecturer is Dr. Hélène Deacon, Killam Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and Director of the Language & Literacy Lab, Dalhousie University, Canada.

The research groups ComPros at the Department of Special Needs Education and TextDim at the Department of Education are hosting an open seminar on Parent-child interaction across early development and cultures. In the seminar the researchers will address topics like parent-infant reading, shared book reading and decontextualized language use during caregiver-child interactions.
