Elf is Professor in Educational Sciences focusing on disciplinary didactics at Department for the Study of Culture, University of Southern Denmark, and a visiting researcher at the National Literacy Centre, University of Stavanger.
Elf's main research field is Language arts/L1-education, focusing on literature, writing and technology, as well as writing in the disciplines and writing development. He is the chair of the executive board of the International Association for Research in L1 Education (ARLE) and co-initiator of SIG Technology and Literacy Education (SIG TALE) within ARLE.
He is a co-editor of the journal L1 - Educational Studies in Language and Literature. Since 2017, Elf is a member of the Steering Committee of International Society for the Advancement of Writing Research (ISAWR). In 2018, he was appointed member of WAC Clearinghouse Publications Review Board.

Michael Tengberg is Professor of Educational Work at the Department of Educational Studies, Karlstad University. His research topics include the process of reading and reading instruction such as analysis of reader response, classroom interaction about texts, the effectiveness of reading interventions, and the validity of various reading assessment practices, e.g., reading comprehension tests. Tengberg is the leader of the Linking Instruction and Student Achievement in Sweden (LISA Swe), financed by the Swedish Research Council.

Kirsti Klette has been a full Professor of Classroom Studies / Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Oslo since 2002. Professor Klette is the Director of the Research group Studies of Instruction across Subjects and Competences (SISCO) at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, she is the leader of the TeachingLearningVideoLab Oslo and she is the co-director of the Nordic Centre of Excellence in Education with a special responsibility for video documentation / innovative classroom teaching.
Her areas of research is teaching and learning in classrooms/ video documentation of classroom learning/ how to measure instructional quality, and teacher education. Klette has received major grants for national and comparative studies in these areas of research, including a recently national and Nordic funding focusing on Linking Instruction and Student Achievement (LISA study). She is also the principal investigator of a comparative cross national study analysing teacher training program in five countries: Finland; Norway; California; Chile and Cuba - the Coherence and Assignments in Teacher Education – CATE study.

QUINT role: Deputy Centre Director and Theme 3 Leader (Video-based learning arenas for professional learning)
Marte Blikstad-Balas is a full professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Oslo. Her main research interest concerns how traditional and digital texts are used in different school subjects. She also has a particular interest in research methodologies, in particular qualitative methods and video research, and she has been a part of several video studies of students in schools settings across grades and subjects, including the large-scale Linking Instruction and Student Achievement (LISA) study Blikstad-Balas is the leader of an innovative, video-based professional development effort in close collaboration with the Education Agency in Oslo, the Video To Support Excellence in Teaching (VIST) project. In VIST, teachers and researchers work closely together to increase teachers’ repertoires of instructional scaffolding. Blikstad-Balas is involved in teaching research methods both at the master level and the PhD level at the University of Oslo. She has written a range of academic articles about students’ literacy practices and methodological issues concerning research in classroom contexts.

Anna Kristín Sigurðardóttir is Professor in educational leadership and school improvement. She is a head of Centre for Research in Educational Development that focus on active dialogue between researchers and stakeholders in the educational system about research, policy and practice. Anna Kristín previously worked as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, consultant and a leader at municipality level in Iceland. Her main research interest concerns wide perspective of educational development and policy such as schools as a professional learning community, the physical learning environment in relation to teaching and learning, teacher education and schools and university partnership.

Slotte's research is related to multilingualism, video ethnography and (digital) literacy. Language across the curriculum, digital literacy practices and other text practices, related both to mother tongue education (L1) and other subjects.
PI for DIDIA, 'Multlingual Didactic and dialogs', a research project aiming to promote positive attitudes, increase language competence, language awareness and strengthen the didactical knowledge about learning in multilingual contexts (2018–2021). Senior reseracher in Textmöten, a research project focusing on the presence of online activities in the school, where internet and digital tools are an obvious part (2014–2018). President of NERA, Nordic Educational Research Association (2016– ); Vice President 2013–2016.
