About the project

The guide for pre-service teachers and their mentors in school is developed in collaboration with teacher educators from the university and collaborating schools. The guide will be tested during the pre-service teachers’ placement in schools.

The PhD project will also investigate how the guide for video-based mentoring can contribute towards theory-practice coherence, and pre-service teachers’ professional development.

The project is in collaboration with the larger research project Digital integration of video assessment in different arenas (DIVA).

Background

This is a design-based research project where the background of the mentoring guide is theoretical perspectives from science education and pedagogy, in addition to experiences and feedback from teacher educators from schools and campus.

The duration of the PhD project is 4 years.
